In this fun-filled workshop, you will learn the basics of melt-and-pour soap making, as well as the importance of using clean soap bases with clean scents. We'll go through the use and benefits of the ingredients and learn about different design techniques. 

Participants will be able to choose which type of soap they want to make. Including choosing a glycerin soap base, eco-friendly fragrance, mold(s) and natural ways to dye and add toppings to your soap. Your soap can also be infused with your favorite, luxurious skincare ingredients like oils, clays and botanicals.

Wine, mocktails, and snacks will be provided!

Note: Most soaps will need time to set, so we will cut and package them for pickup after 24 hours.

Fermented foods are rich in probiotic bacteria and enzymes that help maintain intestinal flora, improve the digestive system, and enhance the immune system. Join Sam Cato who will guide you through the process of fermenting sauerkraut and beet kvass. While we prepare our ferments, Sam will discuss the health benefits behind sauerkraut and beet kvass. You’ll learn about the differences and similarities of both fermented products.

A healthy immune system is designed to produce antibodies that attack foreign or harmful cells in your body. However, in people with autoimmune disorders, the immune system tends to produce antibodies that, rather than fight infections, attack healthy cells and tissues. This can result in a range of symptoms, including joint pain, fatigue, abdominal pain, diarrhea, brain fog, and tissue and nerve damage.

A few examples of autoimmune disorders include rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, IBD, type 1 diabetes, and psoriasis. Autoimmune diseases are thought to be caused by a variety of factors, including genetic propensity, infection, stress, inflammation, and medication use.

Also, some research suggests that, in susceptible individuals, damage to the gut barrier can lead to increased intestinal permeability, also known as “leaky gut,” which may trigger the development of certain autoimmune diseases.

Certain foods are believed to possibly increase the gut’s permeability, thereby increasing your likelihood of leaky gut.

Come learn about health-promoting, nutrient-dense foods that are thought to help heal the gut, and ultimately, reduce inflammation and symptoms of autoimmune diseases. We’ll talk about what foods to eat, and which to avoid - as well as some our favorite easy recipes and tips for meal planning.

Join us for an introduction to fermentation! Fermentation has many health benefits and is used in the production of alcoholic beverages, bread, yogurt, sauerkraut, apple cider vinegar and kombucha. Gut health and benefits of home-made ferments

Join us as we taste test a variety of fermented items, and learn the art of quick pickling and take home a quick pickled jar of We'll be quick pickling a variety of root vegetables since that's what's in season. Customers will be able to create their own colorful jar of shredded and sliced veggies like carrots, radish, turnip, beet, onions, etc. Leave with the knowledge and confidence to go home and get fermenting!

Tinctures can be used to treat pain, provide energy, reduce anxiety, improve mood, fight viruses and bacteria, and much more. They are safe and affordable forms of medicine that improve overall health and wellness. Join us to talk, learn, create, and heal! They are a wonderful and convenient way of taking herbal medicine. In this informative class we will discuss and demonstrate methods to make fresh and dried plant tinctures. Participants will go home with three of their own tinctures.

Learn the basics of salve making with herbalist, Juniper Vaughn . She’ll share an introduction of making your own plant infused oils which are the bases of making salves, balms, lotions, creams and butters. You will learn to make your own all-purpose healing salve just in term for all of our winter skin needs, and can use this knowledge to create your own salve for specific purposes – such as eczema, sore muscle balm or a balm to help soothe tension and ease headaches.

You will go home with your own 2oz jar of healing salve, as well as 2 ounces of an herbal oil infusion of your choice.
